We feel very fortunate to have chosen Hamel-Lydon for our Dad's funeral services. The excellent service provided by Ms. Lola Tom was above expectations. At times we felt guilty for disturbing her, but Lola was always there offering her knowledge and guidance for - casket selection, flowers, burial and headstone.

Ms. Lola Tom was extremely knowledgeable and well-versed in the intricacies of planning and carrying out a traditional Chinese funeral service. Ms. Tom took extra time making sure all the guests (especially the grandchildren) were well informed of the traditions, customs and rites. Lola accompanied and directed the traditional Chinese burial site services as well. She was always ready to be of assistance and yet never being intrusive. Our family was at ease under the difficult circumstances of the day.

Family and friends who attended the wake were very impressed with the services. The Quincy Center venue, where Dad's services were held, was bright and airy. Attendees of different generations were quick to mention that the quality of the service and venue were significantly better; and things were not rushed as they often have experienced at the old-school Chinese funeral homes in Boston's Chinatown.

When my mother passed away suddenly in 2014, Lydon Funeral Home came to our despair. With an open heart and professionalism that can't be matched anywhere else. There is not enough words to describe not only did my mom go home but the whole family did with her. Thanks to Michelle Lydon and her staff. My mom's wake should've been an overwhelming task but it wasn't. Michelle made it look easy. My mom had 14 people in her receiving line at the wake and 14 hundred guests which Michelle accommodate with ease. It was the coldest night of the year and she made sure there was not 1 person standing outside. That was just 1 of the main events of the saddest time of my life. From the moment I called her about her passing and for months and until this very day the care and concern hasn't stopped. My 5 brothers and sisters, children and friends who witnessed what Lydon Funeral had done for our family have now pledged their bodies to God and Michelle. Very helpful, I was able to arrange memorial services very quickly, which was helpful as I had many relatives coming from out of state. The only thing I would have done differently was to arrange to have an hour before memorial service to receive people before the service began, which was not offered to me and I did not think about it till afterwards.
